Humiliating defeat: England V Iceland Euro 2016

On the 27th June 2016, England verses Iceland with the final score 2:1 to Iceland.

Rooney scored for England following a penalty in the fourth minute of the game whereas Iceland’s goal scorers were R. Sigurdsson in the sixth minute followed by Sigthorsson in the eighteen minute.

Roy Hodgson, England’s manager resigned after England’s appalling defeat to Iceland.

Although England had eighteen attempts to score, only five were on target, what a shocker!

England had more possession of the ball yet failed to score more than once.

Did you know that there are more volcanoes in Iceland than professional footballers and that Iceland have the same population as Leicester City.

After the game Kari Arnason stated that England player Joe Hart shouted, “We’ll have to be better than this against France,” and “We can’t lose to this lot, they’re rubbish.

Wales celebrated after England’s dreadful defeat to Iceland.
